Mac word processor

Does anyone use just Mac word processorm with textexpander or other softward to generate notes without a full EMR. I am just finishing training and I am joining a paper oriented practice, and I would like to generate my own notes, save money, but not force the entire staff to convert to my computerized system. I would like to be efficient enough to show other partners the benefits of computerized system and possibly look at EMR in the future.

Can anyone give feedback to using Mac word processing without full EMR? Is it possible to setup multiple templates with their word processor?
