EMR Adoption
Fri, 05/15/2009 - 11:41
Seems to me that there is a significant opportunity here. The articles that I have read about the resistance to EMR adoption in small and medium practices highlights that disruption to workflow due to system complexity and need for training and support runs neck-and-neck with system cost as reasons given for not adopting. This despite a long shopping list of documented benefits to patient care, safety, proactive disease management, etc. Since the adoption percentage across the US is still in the low teens, it's not too late for some intrepid developers to clean up by leveraging the ease-of-use, security and reliability inherent in OSX. Thanks for inviting me into this group - I look forward to the the discussions. |
